In 1978, the founder of Yungshin Pharm Ind. Co., Ltd. Mr. Lee, Tian-Te (1923~2006) established Yungshin Social Welfare Foundation to promote social welfare with the concept of only taking the medicine when necessary. With the aim to improve quality of social welfare services, Yungshin Sports Park was built to promote leisure activities and organize the National Yungshin Volleyball Tournament. Yungshin Nursing Center for the Elderly was also built to take good care of the elderly.

As the increasing population of the elderly results in serious care problems in Taiwan, the founder conceived an idea of building a nursing center that offers a comfortable, safe, and dignified environment for the elderly.
Officially opening in 2001, Yungshin Nursing Center for the Elderly integrates corporate resources, the regional medical system, and academic assistance and recruits experienced professionals to offer a quality nursing environment for the elderly in accordance with laws and regulations and the supervision of competent authorities at all levels.

Our Good Neighbor
Community Care Site
To promote health in communities, the first community care site was built in Dajia District in September 2007. Functioning as the primary prevention, a series of activities are organized for the elderly to build healthy communities. To ensure the stable growth of the community care site, professional social workers were assigned to guide community volunteers through administrative operations. Currently, volunteers are able to provide service independently. The community site was awarded excellence in the evaluation by Taichung City Government consecutively.

Visit
- Volunteers visit the elderly to care for their life, give mental support, understand their needs and inform them of related welfare service, so as to provide appropriate assistance and referral

Meal Delivery
- Volunteers deliver meals to the elderly living alone every Monday to Friday to ensure their nutrition and know well their personal safety

Health Promotion
- To promote health and interaction of community residents, a variety of activities are held at community sites on the health promotion day every week

Bath Service at Home
- The bath service is provided at home for the elderly to take a shower instead of taking a sponge bath, which significantly improve their quality of life, skin, and body circulation

Telephone Greeting
- Volunteers greet the elderly by phone to continuously care for them and understand their needs, and inform them of related welfare service or referral whenever necessary
